  • Actress Lucy Liu will headline YWCA El Paso’s 30th Annual Women’s Luncheon—she was chosen for her work in entertainment and giving back. The event will support programs like the Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center—early learning, after-school, and social equity initiatives.  KFOX14
  • El Paso County Public Works will host a free community clean-up event on Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to noon at 15311 El Rosio in El Paso. Residents can drop off up to five passenger tires that are 17 inches or smaller, one pick-up truck load of bulk trash, and approved electronic waste—while the county advises sorting items before arriving.  KTSM

  • Fort Bliss confirmed that 21-year-old Army private Xavier Angel Rodriguez, assigned to the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, is accused of kidnapping and raping a woman daily during a 10-day period from March 2nd to March 12th, 2024—he was arrested on March 20th and remains jailed with a $1,200,000 bond.  KFOX14
  • At Paso Del Norte Bridge in Downtown El Paso, U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested a 32-year-old man on April 9 after finding fentanyl and meth hidden in a bicycle frame and an 18-year-old woman on April 21 after seizing cocaine, fentanyl pills and powdered fentanyl concealed in a scooter—both now facing federal drug smuggling charges.  El Paso Times
  • A Santa Fe jury awarded a $190 million verdict to survivors and families of a Chaparral drunk driving crash that killed Jose Marrero and Desiree Seanez when the defendant’s vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 213 — the driver was working at the time.  KVIA
  • El Paso Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects for illegal dumping near Desert Area in Montana Vista on Thursday — authorities found 110 feet of discarded trash and impounded the vehicle used by 79-year-old Lilia De La Riva and 61-year-old J. Refugio Alvarez Valdez.  KFOX14
