- ➤ On Wednesday, the El Paso County Attorney’s office announced that Texas Senate Bill 1120 took effect on Monday to extend protective orders for family violence victims in cases of divorce, custody, or ongoing criminal charges. The law, sponsored by Senators Juan Hinojosa and Joan Huffman, automatically extends orders by two years (ensuring victims keep protection while their cases continue). KFOX14
- ➤ El Paso is testing a new drone program downtown that will soon expand citywide with 22 launch docks on police stations, fire stations, and city buildings — helping responders quickly view major emergencies like fires, crimes, and large public events. The drones are flown remotely by certified pilots and will improve on-the-spot decision-making during critical incidents. El Paso Times
- ➤ El Paso and Sunland Park have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to review development proposals within 1,000 feet of the state line and plan quarterly meetings to coordinate on traffic studies and shared infrastructure investments— including streets, water, sewer, and drainage projects.
