- ➤ The Columban Mission Center in El Paso—joined by local nonprofits, religious and migrant groups—will hold its 13th Alternative Black Friday on November 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 816 Magoffin Ave to support migrant communities on both sides of the border. KVIA
- ➤ Jalisco Cafe in El Paso will serve a free traditional Thanksgiving meal on November 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.—continuing a 20-year tradition for families, veterans, and those in need at 1029 E. Seventh Ave. Community members may also donate extra turkeys, canned vegetables, or desserts and enter a raffle to win menudo for two. KFOX14
- ➤ El Paso will honor businesswoman Estine Davis, the first black woman to own a business in Sun City — a pioneer who ran Estine's Eastside Barbershop — at her funeral services. Visitation is on December 4th at 4:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life at 9:30 a.m. and intermittent rites at 12:30 at Restlawn Memorial Park. KVIA
- ➤ ASEZ STAR Church of God students organized a winter coat drive on Monday morning at the Texas DFPS office building (501 Hawkins Boulevard) to help CPS-involved children, and they collected nearly 200 coats and blankets; a CPS Faith-Based Community Engagement Specialist said the donation will help families stay warm this winter. - ➤ El Paso received a $13.39 million grant from the Texas Department of Transportation on Friday to design and build bike paths and trails along major roadways in South Central—these walkable areas will connect parks, businesses and schools while offering safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists. - ➤ UTEP has approved a $108 million student housing complex to meet the rising demand for affordable living, and the project will provide rooms for 456 incoming freshmen—expected to begin construction soon. El Paso Inc.
- ➤ El Paso is considering new animal rules that would require dog owners to register, microchip, and train their pets if their dogs hurt other animals. City staff postponed the council discussion to let the animal advisory committee review the proposal—change that would fill a gap in state health codes. El Paso Matters
- ➤ Joe Montisano resigned as El Paso Zoo Director after being on administrative leave since mid-September amid multiple controversies — Gary Lunsford now serves as interim while the city plans to recruit a permanent replacement. El Paso Times

- ➤ El Paso mom Theresa Troia (36) had quintuplets born on June 3 by cesarean section and the last baby is being discharged from Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare today so they can come home for the holidays.
