- ➤ Businesses in El Paso are reporting a sharp drop in holiday sales as fewer shoppers from Mexico visit amid economic uncertainty (one owner noted nearly a 50% decline). Local leader Hector Chavez plans to work with others to propose measures to boost downtown activity. KFOX14

- ➤ El Paso Water crews are repairing a main break at the intersection of Mesquite Hills & Dyer, causing low water pressure for customers for an estimated 5 to 6 hours. A water tank near Idea Charter School will supply potable water to those affected. KVIA
- ➤ President Claudia Sheinbaum visited Ciudad Juarez on Saturday, Dec. 13 to inaugurate the LIBRE Center for Women, which will offer free services to women facing violence and social vulnerability. She met with local officials, including Chihuahua Gov. María Eugenia Campos, during her visit. El Paso Times

- ➤ In a game Saturday night, UTEP men's basketball lost to Hawaii 66-61 in Honolulu after a late run erased their 14-point lead. The Miners will play at home in the WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational Sunday (Dec. 21) at 7:30 p.m. El Paso Times
- ➤ The UTEP Miners women's basketball team lost to Brigham Young on Saturday, Dec. 13 & dropped to a 7-2 record after an early deficit. They will host UC Irvine on Thursday at 7 p.m. El Paso Times
