- ➤ Rad Retrocade East, a family entertainment center on Montana Ave, will close after Sunday, Jan. 18 as it prepares to relocate—new location details are forthcoming. Its West Side branch remains open. El Paso Times

- ➤ El Paso Comic Con 2026 will host space marines from Aliens & stars like Michael Biehn, Jenette Goldstein, WWE personalities, comic book artists, Cheech & Chong, Kevin Smith & Pam Grier at the Convention Center at 1 Civic Center Plaza from May 1-3. KFOX14
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UTEP opened Texas Western Hall on Thursday, Jan. 15. The new facility is a $110 million liberal arts building with 30 classrooms, common areas, a Starbucks (adding convenience) and a 150-seat auditorium, serving over 1,700 students. El Paso Times
- ➤ Texas Tech Health El Paso professor Dr. Biff Palmer was honored with the Robert G. Narins Award for his work in kidney education. El Paso Inc.
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ El Paso Water lifted its boil water notice on Thursday afternoon for residents in Northeast and Central after tests confirmed the water is safe to use + water distribution sites will close at 10 p.m., and customers are advised to flush taps to clear out any sediments. KFOX14
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Texas Department of State Health Services is partnering with local agencies, including El Paso Animal Services, to hand bait over 4,500 oral rabies vaccine baits in areas where wildlife is active. Residents are advised to call 311 if they see any animals acting abnormally. KVIA
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ This weekend, 3,000 runners will launch the 7th Run Internacional 10K from San Jacinto Plaza, cross the Stanton/Lerdo International Bridge to Ciudad Juarez, and finish at the Paseo Del Norte International Bridge. Organizers scheduled 7:30 a.m. warm-up and celebration from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and require valid government ID. KVIA
- ➤ Stephanie Han known as the Enforcer will host a meet and greet today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Han's Oriental Martial Arts (9861 Dyer St., Suite 17) and another is set for Jan. 23 at Hans Martial Arts (6100 N. Mesa, Suite G). KFOX14
