- ➤ Flix Brewhouse announced Tuesday it will transform two El Paso Alamo Drafthouse theaters on Montecillo Boulevard and Pellicano Drive into dine-in movie venues. The change makes the city the only one hosting three Flix Brewhouse locations. KFOX14
- ➤ Whataburger returns its popular Whatacatch Sandwich and Platter for Lent, available Feb. 17 to April 6 at its local outlets. The sandwich features wild-caught Alaskan pollock with lettuce, tomato, & tartar sauce on a soft bun, while the platter adds fries and extra sides with curbside pickup and delivery. KFOX14

- ➤ El Paso Police issued a Silver Alert for 70-year-old Keith Richard Kerna, a man with schizophrenia last seen leaving the Red Roof Inn on Feb. 4 and traveling on foot (call 915-832-4400 if you have information). KFOX14
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ FAA officials halted all flights at El Paso International Airport because of security concerns. The 10-day order also affects Santa Teresa, N.M. El Paso Times
- ➤ Sen. César J. Blanco's office is hosting a free tax service event on Feb. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Anthony High School Computer Lab in Anthony to help families file taxes and claim refunds (bring required identification and documents). KFOX14
- ➤ El Paso's historic American Canal is undergoing a $90M renovation to repair erosion, reduce water loss, and preserve the irrigation system for border farmers. Construction started in September 2024; crews now work near Fort Bliss barracks — the project will be completed by June to secure water supplies. El Paso Times
- ➤ El Paso International Airport announced it will raise long-term parking rates from $7 to $9 per day beginning March 1 to support parking improvements (approved by City Council) while easing community impact during construction and holiday travel. KVIA
