- ➤ KVIA-Channel 7 anchor Paul Cicala announced he is stepping away from journalism because of his own health issues and his father's worsening condition. He plans to pursue day shift jobs and may return to Tucson while remaining grateful for his time in El Paso. El Paso Times
- ➤ The Center Against Sexual and Family Violence reports a rise in digital dating abuse among middle schoolers during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. CASFV is hosting the Chalk About Love event on Feb. 25 at the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse at 12 p.m. to support affected families. KVIA

- ➤ Literarity Book Shop will close after nine years on El Paso’s Westside — owners Bill and Mary Anna Clark said operations will wind down over the next three months. - ➤ The Broadway production of The Wiz opened on Feb. 18 at Plaza Theatre with a vibrant retelling of Oz and its 50th anniversary celebration. It will perform today at 8 p.m. and continue Saturday (2 and 8 p.m.) and Sunday (1 and 6:30 p.m.) with dance numbers and classic tunes. El Paso Times

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wildlife experts say that border wall construction may harm endangered species and disrupt the vital El Paso (Ciudad Juárez) biological corridor. Local advocates urge careful review of the project as it could negatively affect both the ecosystem and geological records. KVIA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews have begun resurfacing and road repairs along Vista del Sol Drive in East El Paso as part of a $4.2 million project—funded by the Community Progress Bond Program—that includes ADA upgrades and older pavement repairs; work will finish by the end of 2026. KFOX14
