  • El Paso businessman Paul Foster’s net worth increased to $4.3 billion on Forbes’ list as of March 10, moving him to No. 984 among 3,428 billionaires. He recovered from a low-blood sugar incident at a soccer match on Feb. 27 and remains the city’s only local billionaire.  El Paso Times

  • The USPS issued 15 stamps showcasing iconic lowrider models as part of a celebration of this vibrant culture on Friday, Mar. 13; the stamps are now available for purchase on its official website.  El Paso Times
  • El Paso native F. Murray Abraham, who won an Academy Award for his role in Amadeus, grew up and worked locally before earning global acclaim — the upcoming Oscars this evening in Hollywood also spotlight One Battle After Another with 13 nominations, including awards for best actor and supporting roles.  El Paso Times
  • El Paso Museum of Archaeology held its annual Poppies fest on Saturday morning to celebrate vibrant Mexican Gold Poppies in the Franklin Mountains. The event, honoring the local Chihuahuan Desert, continues today at 10 a.m. with artists, vendors + food trucks.  KVIA
