  • El Paso broke ground Wednesday on Phase II of The Beast Urban Park on the Eastside, beginning construction on a $15M expansion that will add 650000 sqft with diamond fields, pickleball and basketball courts, and other amenities for community recreation.  KFOX14
  • Residents can apply by March 30 for the Citizen Police Academy held from April 7-30 and volunteer for the 915 Tree Keepers tree planting at three parks on Saturday, March 21 starting at 7-30 a.m. The Risinger Park groundbreaking in Fabens is set for Friday, March 20 at 2-30 p.m.  El Paso Times

  • Accusations against Cesar Chavez have led artists at Lincoln Park to alter a mural and sparked local debate on how the movement is honored. A UTEP professor said the change reflects a broader reassessment of historical narratives — urging the community to recognize more than one leader.  KFOX14

  • ChangeMakers: Women in the Arts will feature local honorees, exhibits, live performances & workshops at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at the Mexican American Cultural Center in downtown, celebrating women whose art has enriched community culture.   • The Mexican American Cultural Center will celebrate its first anniversary on Saturday, March 21 with games, tours and mariachi music at 201 W.   • Gas prices rose nearly $1 per gallon, costing about $3.54 for regular gas in El Paso, according to AAA+ reports; the increase follows higher spring break demand and sustained high crude oil costs.  El Paso Times
