  • El Paso Locomotive FC will host a Kids Day soccer match with family activities on Saturday, April 4 at Southwest University Park.   • BTS fans faced a tough online queue and presale hurdles to secure tickets for two Sun Bowl shows, which quickly sold out and led to high resale prices — a moment that meant a long-awaited reunion for many.  KVIA

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UTEP is hosting a watch party for the Artemis II launch today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on campus, where students and faculty will watch the first manned mission to the moon in over 50 years -- professor Jose Hurtado will provide live support from NASA's Science Evaluation Room.  KVIA
  • Harmony Public Schools is planning a new elementary school behind Harmony middle and high school at 10405 Dyer St in Northeast El Paso. The ground-up construction on a vacant lot is valued at $25.8 million and designed by Gignac Architects.  El Paso Times
  • Enrollment in El Paso County schools fell for the 2025 to 2026 school year as fewer births and outmigration shrink student numbers. All nine districts reported drops, with Anthony losing up to (6%) of its students, and the decline is expected to continue.  El Paso Matters

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Contractors blasted the south side of Mount Cristo Rey on Monday morning to prepare a 1.3-mile border wall under a $95 million contract (approved last year) near Anapra, and the construction may impact the upcoming Good Friday pilgrimage.  El Paso Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • El Paso Chihuahuas are set to open their 13th season with a mix of returning players and new talent. The team will kick off with Opening Day festivities on Tuesday, April 7, at Albuquerque Isotopes, followed by nightly promotions including giveaways, fireworks & special events.  El Paso Times
  • The Americas Trailblazers defeated Aledo 6-1 in region finals in 5A Division I and will face Walnut Grove in Friday's state semifinals, while the Burges Mustangs clinched a win in double overtime with a free kick in 5A Division II and will meet Wakeland on Friday.  KFOX14
  • Fort Bliss will transform 124 acres of the former Sunset Golf Course into a youth sports complex featuring 10 turf fields, a splash pad, and concessions to host regional tournaments for military families and the community. Officials expect a grant decision by September and possible construction to begin soon.  KVIA
