- ➤ New Texas rules limiting hemp-derived THC have forced many El Paso shops to pull popular products. Cannabis World owner David Ramirez said the state’s regulations & increased licensing fees, now at $5,000, have already cut his sales by 90% and may force downsizing. El Paso Matters
- ➤ A new Nusenda Credit Union branch is under construction in East El Paso at the intersection of Edgemere Boulevard and Geronimo Drive (replacing a bridal boutique). The $4 million project will offer expanded banking services for local residents soon. El Paso Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ El Paso singer-songwriter Julián Kalel thanked fans after his American Idol elimination on Monday and said he will keep using his music to boost mental health awareness. Kalel advanced to the Top 14 contestants — his social media post showed his determination to move forward. KFOX14
- ➤ Local businesses and fan groups are preparing to welcome BTS fans on May 2 and May 3 with themed pop-up events and giveaways — creating spaces to shop, dine, and explore border culture. - ➤ TxDOT is finishing a new runaway truck ramp on Loop 375 westbound that uses energy-absorbing net stations to stop heavy trucks before reaching I-10 (the state's first mechanical ramp system in a median). The ramp will open by summer. KFOX14
