  • Residents welcomed war veterans returning from Honor Flight on Saturday, Apr. 25 at the El Paso International Airport, where veterans of the Korean and Vietnam Wars arrived after their visit to Washington, D.C.—community members brought flags and signs to honor their service.  KFOX14

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gadsden Independent School District named Nubia Tarazona as its new superintendent after a thorough search that involved community input and formal interviews. The district said more details on the leadership change will be released later.  KFOX14

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • I-10 eastbound remains closed until 3 a.m. Monday as TxDOT widens the highway — a $110 million project that began at 3 a.m. Saturday — on the stretch between Anthony and Los Mochis Drive. State police guide drivers away from Exit 404 during the work.  El Paso Times
  • Crews worked overnight at Cement Lake in West El Paso to remove more than 9 feet of water and reinforce the dam following concerns of a potential breach; officials urge residents to avoid the area until emergency operations are completed.  KFOX14
