Yarbrough Drive and ventilated a nearby medical center after a gas odor was reported due to construction activity possibly hitting a gas line, and they will remain on scene until Texas gas dig crews arrive. - ➤ An El Paso man, Jorge Alberto Chavez, 30, accused of stabbing his girlfriend Dafne Michelle Davila to death on Zinc Place in January, had his charges upgraded to capital murder by terror threat on April 3—deputies said he reversed into a cruiser and fled the scene. KFOX14

- ➤ City health officials reported 38 measles cases (including three breakthrough infections) and at least three hospitalizations in El Paso; they explained that the measles vaccine (which is 97% effective after two doses) usually makes infections milder. KFOX14
- ➤ As high temperatures in El Paso cause car interiors to heat up dangerously fast, Sunland Park Fire Department Chief Daniel Medrano warns residents to never leave children, pets, or elderly persons locked in vehicles and suggests using spare keys or leaving an item in the back seat as a reminder—if keys are lost, he advises calling 911 for help.
