Hundreds of BTS fans gathered as early as 5 a.m. around Sun Bowl Stadium on Saturday, and their numbers quickly grew to thousands before the show began.

Many said the long wait and parking challenges were worth the experience of the performance.

Fans gathered at Sun Bowl Stadium early today — many traveling from across the state and overseas — to secure merchandise and await BTS’s performance, turning initial doubts into excited cheers for a promising show in El Paso.

Sol Summit Music & Cultura Festival is underway at San Jacinto Plaza; it began May 2 with Bomba Estéreo headlining and runs today until 10 p.m. when The Flaming Lips will close the lineup, featuring global and local indie, bilingual acts to boost community arts.

El Paso Comic Con offered free entry on Friday and expanded its schedule to give fans more time at the downtown Convention Center from May 1 to today; the event features TV celebrities, voice actors, comic creators, and family-friendly panels (with gaming and interactive attractions).

BTS fans rode the streetcar to the Sun Bowl — trading freebies and connecting before the concert.

Providence Children’s Hospital announced Saturday that baby Brielle, who is growing stronger in the Level 4 NICU, has joined the BTS ARMY as the hospital’s newest fan (a nod that brought smiles to officials).
