  • Hospitals of Providence hosted its Healthy Over Hungry Citywide Cereal Contest at Providence Children’s Hospital yesterday to raise funds for the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank—supporting over 185,000 low-income children facing food insecurity during summer.  KFOX14

  • Drivers in east El Paso reported car trouble after diesel was mistakenly delivered into a premium fuel tank at the Circle K on North Zaragoza Rd — the store suspended premium fuel sales, emptied and cleaned the tank, and resumed operations after testing confirmed safety.  KFOX14

  • BTS, after selling out two shows at the Sun Bowl, toured local landmarks and eateries including Tom Lea Park, Mission Hills Park, Kaedama and Rib Hut — local fans proudly saw a purple-lit star on the Franklin Mountains marking their influence.  KVIA
  • On April 30, five BTS members dined at Kaedama ramen in El Paso during the run-up to the Sun Bowl concerts and enjoyed signature Thicc boi and Tonkotsu bowls while manager Kaitlyn Payne described the experience as a unique local moment.  El Paso Times

  • Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show that in 2024, El Paso workers earned an average annual wage of $50,050, 21.4% lower than the Texas average of $63,660. The figures reflect wages across all occupations.  El Paso Matters

  • Graduation ceremonies will take place across El Paso County at UTEP’s Don Haskins Center and local campuses from May into June. Graduates and guests must review venue rules, including clear bag requirements and security screening — restrictions vary by location.  El Paso Matters

  • Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into El Paso school districts to see if they follow Senate Bill 10's rule for donated Ten Commandments displays - officials said districts must also prove they held votes on prayer time policies.  KVIA

  • Maria Zampini has begun work today as University Medical Center’s first female CEO after more than 30 years at UMC — she will lead current bond-funded projects like observation unit and rehabilitation facility upgrades while addressing staffing and financial challenges.  KVIA
  • Texas Mutual Insurance Company and Texicare donated $285,000 to the Paso del Norte Health Foundation to support diabetes prevention and management programs in El Paso. The grant will fund community efforts that aim to improve local health outcomes.  El Paso Inc.
