CRIME NEWS
- ➤ El Paso County records show that taxpayers spent $4 million for defense and $1.9 million for prosecution in the case of Patrick Crusius, the gunman who killed 23 and injured 22 at a Walmart in 2019—costs that rose with extra expert fees and judge recusal motions before he pleaded guilty to capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to life without parole.
