- ➤ Federal officials in El Paso indicted Maria Del Rosario Navarro-Sanchez on charges of supporting a terrorist organization by alleging she supplied grenades and guns to the CJNG—two other individuals face related smuggling and firearms trafficking charges. El Paso Times

- ➤ Chamizal officials told artist Hal Marcus in May 2024 that his painting 'El Paso Gracias a Dios' must be moved from the visitor center to meet federal rules — it had been on display since 1993. Marcus said he is open to selling or loaning the artwork while city Rep. Chris Canales offered City Hall as a new home for the piece. El Paso Matters

- ➤ TxDOT announced that Artcraft eastbound between McNutt and Upper Valley has been closed since last night for a traffic switch with a detour via West Borderland—temporary lanes were paved last week and signals will operate until early next year. TxDOT also said the Paisano Bridge project will have a deck pour on June 1 with northbound lanes reopening by the end of June—these projects come as work zone safety and seat belt campaigns remain in effect following recent incidents. - ➤ Binational officials from Juárez, El Paso County, and Guadalupe Municipality will meet to plan logistics and economic development for the Marcelino Serna Port of Entry in Tornillo—officials will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. in Juárez to outline improvements once commercial traffic moves from BOTA.
