- ➤ This June, the El Paso Chamber is lighting the Star on the Mountain in rainbow colors to honor Pride Month - the display, sponsored by El Paso Sun City Pride, starts Saturday and will run throughout the month. KFOX14

- ➤ Parents and community advocates met Saturday outside the closed Beall Elementary campus to ask that future bond money be used to upgrade older schools in central areas. The Citizens Bond Committee will decide on the plan on June 11 and the proposal may appear on the ballot in August. KFOX14

- ➤ Hootie, a baby great horned owl rescued from a lavender farm in Tularosa, is recovering after care from wildlife groups; he visited a rehab center in El Paso plus the El Paso Zoo and Gila Wildlife Rescue and will be released back to the farm in the coming weeks. KVIA
