- ➤ Sergio Emmanuel Camarillo-Ponce, a 39-year-old man, died when his grey Toyota Tundra hit a rock wall and rolled over at the 15300 block of Montana Avenue in Far East El Paso on June 12—officials temporarily closed westbound lanes while investigators looked into the cause. KFOX14

- ➤ 14 year old Alan Rubio improved his typing score from very low levels to 110 words per minute after practicing up to four hours nightly in a six week typing course at Charles Middle School. His teacher Sibrena Senegal said his hard work shows promise for his future career + Alan now aims to reach 147 words per minute. KVIA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TxDOT announced extensive road closures and detours from June 15 through June 21 that will affect I-10, Loop 375, and other key routes in El Paso — drivers must follow posted detour signs as crews work on repairs and reconstruction. KFOX14
- ➤ Advocates and court watchers in El Paso reported that on June 11th masked agents swiftly deported migrants right after their court hearings, and families were left distressed with no legal support. Angel Ortiz from a local coalition said that nearly 100 people have been deported in one day—raising serious concerns about fair hearings and due process. KFOX14
- ➤ El Paso is launching a summer campaign to educate residents on the law that bans renting out pools & properties for parties to reduce noise, traffic, and safety issues. The effort includes direct mail, social media outreach, website updates, and in-person visits by Code Enforcement Officers. El Paso Times
