- ➤ A federal judge blocked a Treasury order that forced two local money service providers to collect personal details on transactions over $200—calling the mandate arbitrary and capricious to shield the businesses from harm. Plaintiffs say the ruling eases the data burden on working-class customers—and a final decision is expected in July. El Paso Times
- ➤ Today, the El Paso City Council voted against El Paso Electric's plan to raise rates by 22 percent, or $23 a month, starting early 2026. - ➤ ICE detentions at the Northeast tent camp in El Paso jumped from under 100 to over 900 detainees in a few days as the site now stages deportation flights—its capacity is about 1,000 and most detainees stay for around five days.
