ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • El Paso police said a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car shut down all westbound lanes of I-10 near the Don Haskins exit early Sunday morning—officials have not shared details about the cause or the victim's identity.  KFOX14
  • El Paso police investigated a fatal motorcycle collision at the Americas interchange on I-10 West at the Don Haskins Drive exit ramp yesterday at 2:30 a.m.—the Special Traffic Investigations Unit is looking into the crash while westbound lanes remain closed and traffic is detoured to Eastlake Boulevard Exit 35.  El Paso Times

BUSINESS NEWS

  • El Paso residents now have a shorter drive to a Buc-ee's store after a new location opened in Amarillo in early 2025 — cutting the trip from nearly 560 miles to about 400 miles. The travel center offers 74,000 square feet of retail space along with 116 fueling stations and is open 24 hours daily.  El Paso Times

CRIME NEWS

  • TABC agents detained a man after a fight broke out outside the Tipsy Tiger bar at 11380 Montwood Drive on Aug. 30—one person fired a gun during the incident that injured two and the suspect now faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  El Paso Times
  • On Saturday at 12:40 pm, DPS Troopers chased a 20-year-old El Paso man—Brandon Tarin—who drove a white Dodge Charger recklessly on IH-10 and Lee Trevino, and they arrested him near North Zaragoza; he now faces a charge of evading arrest as the investigation continues.  KFOX14

  • El Paso school cafeteria teams are working early to prepare meals that meet new USDA nutrition standards while keeping student tastes in mind. Staff at schools such as Mesita Elementary and Eastlake Middle are testing recipes and balancing lower sugar and sodium with favorite options—planning menus for the school year ahead.  El Paso Matters
