COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Stark family in Northeast El Paso has turned its home into a haunted house—open to the community—to collect donations for pet rescue organizations. They have fostered over 560 animals in 14 years and still need donations of pet food, blankets and towels.  KVIA
  • After a government shutdown canceled the Amigo Airsho at Fort Bliss, a free Aviation Experience took place on Oct. 19 at War Eagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa and featured static aircraft displays and meet-and-greets with airshow performers — organizers honored ticket holders, sponsors, and volunteers with the event. La Nube STEAM Discovery Center also offered a $5 discount and free admission for children 12 and younger to those with paid tickets.  El Paso Times
  • On Saturday, The Nightmare Market will transform Casa Ortiz into a Tim Burton-inspired event with eerie fun and artistic magic featuring local vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, a lowrider showcase and dog adoptions. Organized by Three Missions Brewery and presented by Jane and Jensen Vintage, the free event will also offer costume contests for kids and dogs—bringing the community together for a unique Halloween celebration.  KFOX14
