- ➤ El Paso residents on social media have recommended neighborhoods like Eastlake, Kern Place, Album Park, North Hills and Cimarron Canyon for trick-or-treating on Oct. 31—each spot is known for festive displays and community events such as the Album Park parade at 3:30 p.m. El Paso Times
- ➤ Yesterday, University Medical Center and El Paso Children's Hospital delivered 52 gift baskets to police at their headquarters and firefighters at Fire Station 5 to honor first responders on First Responder Day. The hospitals will also send baskets to sheriff, border patrol and private ambulance groups in the coming days. KFOX14
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The El Paso Model Railroad and Historical Association will host an open house on November 2 and November 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.—train fans and hobbyists will see working model train layouts and learn wiring and scenery design skills. KVIA
- ➤ Filmmakers from El Paso and Juarez earned eight awards at the local 48-Hour Film Project on October 23, and their short film Dynamite will compete at Filmapalooza in Lisbon from March 25th to 28th. The team from Lapso—Frame Studios won Best Film and the Audience Award and may secure a screening at Cannes if they win again. KFOX14
- ➤ El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department and the Mexican American Cultural Center will host the 2025 Día de los Muertos Festival and Desfile on Saturday, November 1 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Downtown Arts District — the event will feature a parade at 4 p.m. with dance, music, and alebrijes displays along with family-friendly arts, hands-on activities, and artisan vendors. - ➤ El Paso ISD is seeking community input to choose its next superintendent after former Superintendent Diana Sayavedra resigned and interim Superintendent Martha Aguirre took charge. The district held meetings on October 28 and is hosting further sessions today and on October 30 to gather feedback through an online survey—helping trustees craft a leadership profile. KFOX14
- ➤ Hundreds of high school students gathered at Eastlake High School for the Trans Pecos Association of Student Councils' annual fall conference this morning, where boxing champ Stephanie Han encouraged them to build confidence and spread positivity (over 800 students attended). KVIA

- ➤ Tomorrow, El Paso will host the Night Before Fright benefit at The Toolbox at 506 N Stanton from 6 to 10 p.m. to raise brain injury awareness with events such as a costume contest, beer pong, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and a drag show—proceeds will benefit the Brain Injury Association of America for research, treatment, and rehabilitation support.
