- ➤ Bank of America announced a $5 million donation to help families with urgent food needs, and nearly 100 nonprofits will get the funds. The bank will donate $250 million over the next five years plus employees will volunteer 100,000 hours and match donations to food programs. KVIA
- ➤ El Paso will host its 2nd Annual Dia De Los Muertos Block Party today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Zeke's Pueblo Mexican Supermarket parking lot at 115 Ysleta Lane—attendees can enjoy live music, vendors, food trucks, and a mural unveiling by Ysleta High School students at 6 p.m. KFOX14
- ➤ Fashion design students at Hanks High created over 200 pink beanies that were donated to a local breast cancer care clinic in El Paso—each beanie made to lift the spirits of patients during tough moments. - ➤ Moises ‘Moi’ Garcia, named Best Fine Artist by City Magazine five years in a row, said he supports local artists and has stayed in the Borderland after a newspaper ad led him to work at Dunham Jewelry Manufacturing. - ➤ Sunland Park City Council approved annexing 534 acres on Oct. 28 to allow the Rancho Santa Teresa housing development to grow and strengthen the city’s tax base. The annexed land—307 acres within the development and 227 acres adjacent—will support public improvements and set the stage for housing up to 3,500 homes in the coming years. El Paso Times
