- ➤ El Paso held its Downtown Veterans Day Parade as thousands carried flags along a route from Myrtle Avenue and North Campbell Street through N. Stanton Street—passing key landmarks like Hotel Indigo, the Postal Service and City Hall. The parade, presented by the United American Veterans Organization in partnership with Flags Across America, honored 250 years of America’s military service with Bel Air JROTC cadets carrying state and service flags. - ➤ Rollin’ Smoke Barbecue in Anthony is teaming up with The Salvation Army of El Paso to smoke 95 turkeys for Operation Thanksgiving — a project to feed about 800 people in need. The smoked turkey will be frozen and served at a free drive-thru meal on Nov. 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. KVIA

- ➤ Filmmakers from El Paso and Juarez made the short film Dynamite in just two days at Filmapalooza 2026 and won eight awards on October 23rd at the LUX Cine 17 in Bassett Place Mall. The film will head to Lisbon, Portugal from March 25th—28th, 2026. KVIA

- ➤ Warner Bros. Pictures’ film 'One Battle After Another'—directed by Paul Thomas Anderson—brought nearly $6 million in direct spending to El Paso and boosted the local economy. El Paso Inc.
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ El Paso Community College's Center for Students with Disabilities celebrated the tenth anniversary of Project HIGHER, a program that helps students with intellectual and developmental disabilities earn their degrees—63 of nearly 100 participants have graduated and 26 are currently enrolled. Program founder Rick Razo and the team have noted that students have built new study habits and self-advocacy skills since the program began in 2015. KVIA

- ➤ The city of El Paso spent nearly $8 million to buy five downtown parcels for an expansion of the Judson F. Williams Convention Center that will help it attract larger events and boost tourism.
