  • El Paso’s Scenic Drive will glow with 4,000 luminarias for the 31st Annual Navidad De La Fe event on December 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.—volunteers will host fogatas while visitors see Santa, a live nativity scene, and a donation site for food items.  KFOX14

  • Dallas developers have launched a 200-acre industrial park in El Paso where a Wisconsin electrical components manufacturer is building a factory expected to create 200 jobs.  El Paso Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • El Paso's WinterFest will begin on Nov. 22 and run through Jan. 4 with family skating, a holiday market, a tree lighting at 6 p.m., and a parade with over 70 floats. San Jacinto Plaza will shine with over 1 million lights and a 55-foot tree — marking its 10th anniversary — as the Parks and Recreation Department sets the festive scene.  KFOX14
  • Native El Pasoan Lisa Caprelli has published her 23rd children’s book, The Flying Taco?—a story that sends readers on a global taste tour ending with a stop at Desert Oak Barbecue on the east side. She and her co-authors, including her sister and son, hope the book will inspire local kids to see that hard work can help them achieve their dreams.  KVIA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In Villa Ahumada, few migrants now ride the 'Devil's Train' that once carried thousands north toward Juarez due to stricter border policies and added train yard barriers. Sergio Serna said the train passes nearly empty today—marking a dramatic change in the once-busy migration route.  El Paso Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • The El Paso VA Health Care System held a topping-off ceremony on November 13 that marked the placement of the final beam for its new facility at Fort Bliss—partnering with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Clark Construction Group, and SmithGroup+HKS, the center will offer outpatient services to over 54,000 veterans and is scheduled for completion in August 2029.  KFOX14

  • El Paso Andress High School’s Eagles beat Wichita Falls Memorial 28–14 at home to advance to the Class 5A, Division 2 football playoffs. The team scored 21 first-half points and recovered two fumbles — a play that helped secure their win.  El Paso Times
  • Del Valle High School’s Jake Fette had an unforgettable final game as he broke away from a sack and ran 80 yards to score a touchdown—marking a crucial moment in the school’s sports history. His impressive run under pressure secured his lasting legacy in the game.  KFOX14
