COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso and the C Foundation will distribute food baskets with non-perishable items and turkeys at 910 East San Antonio Avenue starting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 25 + items will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.  KVIA

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters from El Paso and Sunland Park worked together on Wednesday morning to remove a mobile home fire at the Texas-New Mexico state line—no injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.  KFOX14

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A fourth Panera Bread will open next week on November 24 at 3528 N. Zaragoza Road — guests can expect giveaways at the grand opening while the chain expands after a Panera opened in October at 12304 Eastlake Blvd. A new Panda Express opened this week at 12245 Montana Ave — and the restaurant donated $1,000 to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.  El Paso Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Downtown El Paso is set for a busy cultural week as Third Thursdays brings late museum hours and family activities today while the MACC hosts a free event for the Mexican Revolution’s 115th anniversary. WinterFest will start its lights parade and outdoor market on November 22 at San Jacinto Plaza—float displays and live music are expected to draw large crowds—promising a festive kickoff to the season.  El Paso Matters
  • Iconic Styx will perform on March 22 at the Abraham Chavez Theater in 2026 at 7:30 p.m.—tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 on Ticketmaster.  El Paso Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Some Andress High School parents are upset that EPISD did not approve absences for Friday's playoff game in Lubbock, saying the rule will block many families from supporting the Eagles. An EPISD text reminded families that school is in session today and Friday—prompting calls for the district to review its policy.  KFOX14
  • Local colleges helped El Paso families at a November 15 FAFSA info session at Socorro ISD Service Center, where they learned to complete the 2026-27 FAFSA and navigate aid options for mixed-status households+ More bilingual sessions are scheduled on Nov.22 and Dec.6 to provide additional details on funding college costs.  El Paso Matters

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City leaders and VENU broke ground yesterday on the new Sunset Amphitheater in Northeast El Paso at the old Cohen Stadium site. The 12,500-seat venue will open by the end of next year — built through a public-private partnership that will boost local jobs and tax revenue while protecting property tax dollars.  El Paso Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • Diego Luna scored a goal to help the US men’s soccer team win 5-1 over Uruguay in Tampa on November 19th. The match was the team’s final game of the year and Luna—a former El Paso Locomotive midfielder—added his mark on a strong finish.  KFOX14
  • UTEP volleyball is set for the upcoming CUSA tournament as the No. 1 seed—promising tough matchups as the team prepares to face strong opponents in future games.  El Paso Times
