- ➤ A viewer said a lane on Joe Battle was blocked during drop-off at Harmony Public Schools on Dec. 18, slowing traffic. TxDOT said school zones are set locally and the school’s plan uses staggered drop-off and sheriff cooperation to ease congestion. KFOX14
- ➤ El Paso Mushroom Co. is hosting its first mushroom tasting event at Casa Kin on Dec. 21 from 1-5 p.m., where Chef Dario Jones will present a three-course menu made with local mushrooms + proceeds will support hunger relief efforts through donations to Food Not Bombs and the Fighting Hunger Food Bank. - ➤ El Paso ISD named Brian Lusk superintendent on Dec. 9; his contract, signed on Dec. 16, sets a base salary of $360,000 with performance-based raises and runs through June 30, 2029—he will be formally reviewed by Dec. 1, 2026. El Paso Times
- ➤ Marina Delgado from Loretto Academy earned a full-ride QuestBridge Scholarship that covers tuition, housing, books, meals, supplies and travel for her studies at Notre Dame, where she will major in behavioral neuroscience.
