- ➤ El Paso County Parks & Recreation launched Dog Swim Season at Ascarate Pool with a Canine Fiesta held last Saturday. Pup Swim days will run on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. through September 27, charging $2 per dog while owners swim free — participants must show proof of current vaccinations and remain with their pets at all times. - ➤ On Wednesday, SHEBuilds hosted a free event in El Paso where women learned to install ceramic tiles at a warehouse and then practiced the skills at a project home—Marathon Petroleum Corporation and Rebuilding Together organized the workshop to boost practical home improvement skills. KFOX14

- ➤ Fort Bliss once housed an internment camp for enemy aliens during World War II that began taking in mainly men in early 1942 and closed in November — records show some wives and children joined later.
